Band Switch Cable for LA-1K to Flex 6400M

I know the amp will switch when RF is applied, but I'm looking for a cable that automatically switches bands when the Flex changes bands. Seems to me that I saw plans for one involving a USB - DB-9 cable, a gender changer, and a DB-9 serial cable, but I'm not sure if that was for an Acom amp or the LA-1K. Anyone know about assembling this cable?
