8600 and DXLabs Suite - not communicating
All has been well moving from a 6600 to a 8600 but I noticed that DX Commander is not communicating with the 8600 well. In Commander > Configuration > General there is no radio choice for SDR-8600. I am using the same as before, SDR-6600, and it apparently doesn't talk well with the 8600.
Any suggestions?

Continuing from above…
I am not able to click on a DX station and have Spot Collector snap to that station's frequency.
All related to not choosing the right radio as above I suspect

HI Tom, the API is the same for the 6000 series as it is for the 8000 series (except for a little bit of new functionality). I wonder if you have spots turned on in SmartSDR.
If the Serial Number, IP Address and IP Port are all coming up OK (or if you can type them in), then I wonder if the software checks the model number explicitly. If so, you may need to reach out to DXLabs to see if they plan on adding the 8400 and 8600 to the list.

There are some issues in Commander. Seems like similar problem with others.
Dave AA6YQ says to use FLEXSIG as the radio as it will pick up the model f# rom SmartSDR. That did not help my situation.
I am not sure what port to use in the setup. it has been 4992 with 6600. Also tried no port. Still nothing.
I'm sure this will be solved, but would like it today of course.

Edit - The steps below did NOT work. They did not survive a reboot yet the same parameters are in place. For now I unchecked the MultRadio 'enable' check box.
FIXED although not fully vetted but looks good.
Here is a response I received on the DXLABS Group IO site from Rich, N5CZ
"Tom,
Shot in the dark.
Go into Commander's config screen, general tab.
Radio Selection:
- Be sure the serial number of the radio is showing up in the serial
number field along with the IP address in the IP address field (from
SmartSdr, settings, radio setup network tab). My setup uses 4992 as
the IP Port.
Once those fields are populated click the Reset button at about the 2
o-clock position from the Radio Selection area.
The VFO in commander should now populate with the frequency from the 8600.
In order for commander to remember the IP address:
Commander|Config|MultiRadio control section
Radio 1, Model = FlexSig, interrogate checked, enabled checked, Enter a name
Click the select button just to the right of FlexSig, enter the serial
number, IP address and IP Port
Hopefully that helps.

For what it's worth, I am running a Flex-8600 v. 3.8.19 with static IP address (reserved by router) and DX Lab Commander 16.0.3. Commander Radio is configured for FLEXSIG and the Radio Selection box is left completely blank. This works as expected with SmartSDR and WSJT-X.
Also, for remote operations I have Commander Radio configured for KENWOOD, Commander Ports > Primary CAT Serial Port is configured for Port #5 with default parameters, which connects with SmartSDR CAT Serial Port COM5 (or COM4 if not in use). This works as expected for remote ops, but also works on the shack LAN as an alternative to FLEXSIG configuration.

Tom,
What happens when you click the reset button in the general tab? Does the Commander VFO populate with the correct frequency?
