Hello everyone,

I remember seeing several posts about this, but at the time I didn't have the problem.

For a few weeks, I have had this window when starting the flex, which can help me find the solution, I don't really understand what this window indicates

Thanks in advance ,

    Janny,

I have had the same issue with both my Windows 11 PC and an older Windows 10 PC. I have SSDR v2.10.1 on my Flex 6400M. I opened a support ticked with Flex Help desk in early August. Even with Memory Integrity, Virtual Machine Platform and all Virus Software turned off, the DAX driver refuses to install. I have tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling the drivers many time, as have the support team from Flex. Flex support has tried several ways to fix the issue while connected to my PC, but so far they are stumped as to the cause. They told me they would consult with their PC Guru and get back to me, but so far it that has not happened. It appears they do not read or digest the email replies I send them. They continue asking me to try different things with the PC and provide screen shots that I have already sent them along with a detailed report of the results. Microsoft errors shows the DAX driver is not compatible. Until a new driver is written and distributed I think the DAX Driver issue is here to stay. My days of operating FT8 are over until this issue is resolved.

  • If not already done so, follow the solution here

Ensure you pick your correct version and also do it in the same order as Mike designates. This is a proven fix for some but maybe not all. But worth a go if not yet tried.

    Janny:

I had the same problem when installing SSDR on a new Win 11 computer. If you have not done so go to the audio panel and select speakers or head phones as the default audio output device. Windows is trying to assign DAX as a default device. Then reinstall the DAX. DAX does not like to be the default PC audio device. This worked for me, your success may vary.

Thank you all for your input on the DAX Driver error. The sound output device selected is the Speaker/Headphone Realtek High Definition Audio and no other device is available. Unfortunately whatever the issue is, it is still preventing the DAX driver from installing. Both Ken Wells and Tim Ellison from Flex Radio have tried to resolve the problem via emails and actually logging on to my PC remotely in order to determine the cause of the issue . In addition, I have followed all advice and directions on drivers and SSDR program uninstall and reinstall steps to the letter. I purchased my Flex 6400M new in March 2018 and have been through many firmware and SSDR upgrades without issue. This is the first time the SSDR DAX drivers refuse to install.

Although I can operate SSB and CW using SmartSDR, without the DAX working I cannot operate my favorite digital modes FT8 and MSK144. I hope to hear from the Windows expert at Flex Radio soon.
