Trying to get ready for this weekend…CW not keying. In the TX stream is says I must enable the channel by clicking the channel number. Sorry just do not see any number to click.

Hi Richard, This all looks correct. The TX and Mic streams should be off in CW.

When you say that CW is not keying, is it the paddles/key not working or N1MM keying that you are trying to get working?

If it is N1MM, then you need to look at the CW setup there (sorry, I don't have N1MM, so not too much help here…).

Yes N1MM…been up 42 hours working on this Flex 6400….It is going to get fixed or boxed tomorrow.

Are you sure that it is not keying? When using N1MM, you don't get a sidetone but you should see your keying in the panadapter..

Will this "missing sidetone" ever be officially fixed by Flex? I can finally let go then on my RRC boxes. I have no clue about software but is it so difficult to implement? This is one big stone that keep me thinking on an 8400 upgrade. Does anybody know if it is at least on the roadmap for future major software upgrade? Is the current 6400 hardware platform not capable enough? :-( 73 from Bavaria

CW Keying sidetone is not "missing". The 6000 series does not send sidetone back to the originating control head. I normally connect my headphones/speakers and key/paddle to the 6000 itself for both improved latency and for the sidetone.

The Maestro produces its own sidetone when keyed from the Maestro but not when keyed by the computer side.

The 6000 produces its (back panel audio out) sidetone whenever and wherever the source is keying.

I can confirm the Maestro does TX CW without side tone when when N1MM is keying using the F6500 internal winkey (com13 here)
And the RX audio did not come back after sending CW with N1MM
To get RX audio back I have to touch the paddle connected to the Maestro
With the paddle connected to the Flex6500 nothing happens like if it is not connected
Is its software made to annoy the user?
It is a struggle TX without side tone is the Flex a serious radio?
Do i have to use an external Winkey to let this flagship radio work normal CW?
with a Winkey fluffy sidetone?
What does the Flex engineering say about this.
Very disappointing
