Proper Transverter settings for the 6400M

Howdy folks! I just  received my 144/148 mhz transverter from the transverter store as well as a little RM LA 145 amp. In all the articles have found in the initial setup is keep the power to around 5 dbm in transverter setup panel on the Flex.
Ok that done the output was very low but I found turning the RF power on the front of the flex to say 20 gave 25 watts output from the amp.

Now my unsolved question is what or why does the RF power control the transverter output. I thought it was fixed in the setup menu, turning it up can it destroy the transverter?

Hi Eli, if you want the same antenna for transmit and receive, then you want common RF.

If you want one antenna for transmit and a different antenna for receive, then you want split RF.
