Steve,

If Slice Master is launching WSJT-X for you, you dont need to do anything else.  It will grab the decodes, generate spots from them, and send them to the radio.

Just check the settings tab in Slice Master and make sure the 'Send spots to radio' option in the Bandmap group is enabled.

Slice Master needs to launch WSJT-X for you.  So if you can run Slice Master on the computer where you would like to run WSJT-X that should work.  Multiple instances of Slice Master on a single computer wont work, but so long as each Slice Master runs on it's own computer I dont see an issue.

I might be able to spot source scheme to grab WSJT-X network packets and let you launch WSJT-X yourself on any computer. In the typical case of WSJT-X, JTAlertX and Slice Master all on the same computer, this wouldnt work because of network conflicts between JTAlertX and Slice Master.  But it could be useful in cases like yours.

I tried to set up cw skimmer to launch when I go into cw mode. It does not appear to start cw skimmer for me. Have it setup to "launch cw skimmer by mode" cw checked? What am I missing here. Have wsjt setup like that and it works fine. Any settings in skimmer I need to set??

Slice Master will adjust all of the necessary CW Skimmer settings at launch time.  My guess is that you dont have an IQ stream assigned to the panadapter or that the IQ channel is not enabled in the DAX Control Panel.

If you click on the Slice Master status line and let the mouse hover there, you'll get a pop up that shows the recent status messages.  One of those messages should provide a hint.

Yup... that will do it.

Something happened with your DAX driver install.  Slice Master is looking for a device named 'DAX IQ RX 1' but your computer doesnt seem to have it.  Can you confirm?

There are plenty of posts here in the community that talk about how to fix DAX driver issues.  It usually takes an uninstall/re-install of DAX.  I'm not up on the state of the art so I hope someone else can jump in with a suggestion.

But.. if the others are working though, just change the DAX IQ channel in your panadapter, make sure the new one is enabled in the DAX Control Panel, and CW Skimmer might just start up.

I'm trying to utilise Slice master v0.10.5 to control wsjt-x, but my install of wsjt-x is not shown in the Launch tab - only CW-Skimmer.
Rest of system: W7 PC, DXSuite using Commander for my Flex 6300.
WSJT-X is working fine in stand-alone mode: 100s of QSO made with no issues.
Have rebooted, re-installed, run from different HD in my PC - it simply does not "see" wsjt-x.
Any clues or pointers to try?
tnx

Ian,

Slice Master looks in WSJT-X's default installation location to find the executable.  If it cant find it, it doesnt display the option to launch it.  Normally this is

  C:\WSJT\wsjtx\bin\wsjtx.exe

If you have installed WSJT-X somewhere else, you'll have to edit Slice Master's config file to tell it where to look.

If this isnt enough of a hint, send me an email and I'll walk you through it.

Thanks Don: pretty sure that's absolutely the issue - I run all radio stuff from my D drive.
However, next problem is - I've searched for the configuration.ini file, but it does not seem to exist on my system...where should it be? if in the same directory as where I've installed slicemaster, its doesn't seem to be creating it.  (Windows Explorer is showing hidden / system files etc. )

Ian, take a look in

C:\Users\<your name here>\AppData\K1DBO\slice-master\config.ini

Note that the AppData folder is usually hidden.

Look in the configuration.ini for Slicemaster.

Does it use the correct path for your WSJT install.
