A million posts about the Kx2 which is a paired down kx3 (same firmware even) on the elecraft reflector. Its cool with a built in mic and speaker (HtMode) and a thoughtful ground wire. SOTA guys will probably love it....
My question is this, its a different but compatible paddle to the kx3 which in my opinion has far to weak of springs and no feel. I wonder if it feels better.

Anyone at Dayton tell us what is looking cool! maybe TT will do something, anything. Any cool new SS legal limit amps? Pocket size 6-160 antennas that match with no tuner?

We need some light hearted conversation around here.

kx2_datasheet_rev4.pdf

Yet another 1st Generation SDR.. only 10W output  (Life is too short for QRP – Quote K6QK (SK))

Will likely outperform the KX3 and most Legacy Radios.. but limited dynamic range due to limited number of bits and speed of A/D Converter.. ( No Data on Phase Noise or Filtering)

Looks like a great little ultra portable HF Rig... UNTIL you need to actually schlep cables and antennas so people can hear you

NO ETHERNET Connection..

I did a lot of HF pack activity with military grade radios. I hesitate to take such fragile (pronounced FRA-GEEE-LAY) radios into the field.

You have to be careful due to risk of unobtainium. Here is a Thomson radio at American Milspec...

I'm a bit disappointed with the KX2 announcement.  I was hoping for something bigger, not scaled down even more.  So now thinking about a 6300 or 6500 and Maestro combo but there still seems to be too many issues and I STILL would have difficulty in seeing the metering.  Maybe something else will catch my eye from Dayton.

I have my KX3 set up with a few wire antennas, battery, power supply etc in a pelican case for when i travel. That and a collapsible fiberglass mast make for an easy travel station.
My other rig in the station is a TT Eagle. I have only used it a couple times since getting the flex to be honest but its fairly small and easy to operate which makes it a great FD rig.

Did the power sdr rigs not gain any functionality of the life of them? The statement was in reference to with newer versions of SSDR things will improve (Not meaning that they are currently broken).

The 5000 and 3000 continue to have new features added through the KE9NS software updates so they continue to get better over time
