A large noise change has been detected, and the WNB logic is profiling the pan adapter again before enabling.   When it goes solid, it is applying the calculated noise profile.

    Section 11.3 in http://www.flexradio.com/downloads/smartsdr-software-users-guide-pdf/

"When the WNB detects a significant change in signal level or bandwidth, it attempts to normalize the slider value. During this time, blanking will be momentarily bypassed, and the WNB indicator in the Panadapter will be highlighted. Once a suitable value has been found, the blanking action will resume, and the indicator will return to its normal color."

Looks like the documentation needs to be changed a bit to match the flashing instead of what is in the PDF.

A would love to know what the WNB slider does to make better use of it. If i go 100 it produces a ton of noise in the radio and different places in the slider seem to have different effects, but that is a guess.

Bob NN9T, hey neighbor thanks for bringing this to light, I honestly wouldn't have noticed this had you not pointed it out.

Chris K6OZY, thanks for the excellent explanation of WNB.
BTW Chris, I took a look at your qrz page.  "Beyond the lighted stage" is among my favorite flicks, love the history.

    RUSH is a great band!

I fixed the typo in the doc for the next release of SmartSDR.  Thanks for the heads up.

You have set the blanking to aggressively for the noise it is trying to blank.  This is covered in the doc.
