With SmartSDR v1.6, what is the "nifty" solution to hooking a voice keyer via N1MM+ while using a Heil ProSet headset on the "BAL" (balanced) input? I thought there was a FLEX-written document on this but I can't find it now. I may have been dreaming too. LOL! Does anybody have this "new" method working and if so, can you share how to make the necessary configuration with N1MM+ and the voice WAV files. Thanks in advance (TIA) es 73, Dave K4EET

Plug your mic in as normal and record on the fly. Playback will select the Dax port.

AL, I'm new to Flex and new to recording voice messages in N1MM+.  Now with the 6300 I think I stand a chance.  I notice, however, that I don't have "DAX MIC Audio (FLexRadio System" option in my Audio Setup & Monitor Message Recording menu.  I do have "DAX Audio TX 1 (DAX TX Audio)" in the Playback menu.  The amount of help I may need might go well beyond this but I thought I'd start here.  Is "DAX Audio RX 1" acceptable for Message Recording?

    Fred,
Is 'DAX Mic Stream'  shown in the DAX control panel and is it turned on?  If it is not there, then there is a Flex DAX install problem.. If it is there, then check the Windows 'Manage Audio devices'
if 'DAX Mic Audio' is not there then it could be a FLex DAX install problem or a WIndows problem.

If it is there then there may be a N1MM+ problem..

If you show 'DAX Audio TX 1' but not 'DAX Audio TX' then I think that means the version 1.6.17 of DAX was not installed correctly when you installed Flex 1.6.17..  What version is shown in the DAX Control panel.

I checked the DAX control panel  It indicated it was "Off".  When i clicked to turn it on it stayed off and now indicates a Driver Error.  It does NOT show in Windows Sound.  I'll open a help desk ticket.  Thanks, Al.  I may get back to you about recording once I get DAX fixed.
