Winkeyer issue: HRD DM780 and SmartSDR

Connecting with the DM780 winkeyer interface to SmartSDR works well, but sending longer texts or calling CQ results in characters being sent after a long space in the last words of the macro.

Watching the DM780 winkeyer buffer being emptied, I think that a "buffer underrun" in DM780 may be the cause, as other CW programs like CWType by UA9OV do not have this problem.

Maybe enlarging the winkeyer buffer size in DM780 might be a solution,
and/or a program change in SmartSDR to avoid a buffer underrun.

Now to be clear about this issue: Hardware winkeyers like the K1EL chip or my favourite ZLP keyer do not have this issue at all, showing that their inbuilt buffer is bigger and no underun is possible.

My current workaround is this:

1. Start the FlexRadio and SmartSDR in the usual way
2. When SSDR runs, start UA9OV's CWType
3. Send a vvvvvv string
4. Close CWType
5. Start HRD DM780 winkeyer interface

Funnily this causes the CW issue to be solved, why - I don't know.... CWType seems to clear up the buffer issue ????

My equipment: Sony VAIO with a P7 CPU, Win7HE64bit, HRD and SmartSDR in the newest versions, Flex6k5

We actually found something similar to this while doing some Winkeyer testing today.  Look for a fix in the next release.

UPDATE: SmartSDR 1.9.9 fixed the problem !
I put my Flex6k5 on a dummy load today and tested the Winkeyer emulation extensively - all ok now. Hope it stays that way :-)
