Win 10 - An Unexpected Update

Just found my Win 10 box had downloaded an update which I had not expected. I got the "anniversary" update last week and all was well with that.  This one was called "Cumulative Update for Windows 10 1607 (KB3194496)".  A brief look on Google makes me think this was some kind of preview update. Zero idea why that would come my way.

Anyway, just a heads up for the group. So far, all is well. No adverse effects on the Flex. All the CAT and DAX functions still work great.

When get some time later today going to look harder to see what the "preview" part is all about.

Have to admit that so far Win 10 has been a positive all around.  Dang!  Why did I go and say that?!! Now Murphy will be knocking at my door for sure.

You might be more likely to receive these surprise Microsoft visits on Tuesdays. They plan for weekly update releases to happen on Tuesdays, on a first come, first abused basis. They might not arrive every Tuesday and might show up later if the update server is overloaded.  They used to sing about "They call it stormy Monday, but Tuesday's just as bad" Microsoft has upgraded the tune to, They call it stormy Monday, and now Tuesday's SCARY BAD!!!"

That's the one that completely toasted my win10 partition. Dell told me I could either let them remote into my system and reinstall or go out and buy another win10 install media. Last Dell machine I'll ever buy. So instead, I'll give the entire 2TB to Linux and create a win7 VM.
