Will the Flex be accessible to Austin Tech people for remote internet diagnosis/repair?

As my 6.5K is connected to my router, I 'assume' that a service person in Austin could access my radio. Does Flex have the ability to run a service check on a radio connected to the 'net'? If not at present, do you plan such an approach? For instance, the latest SmartCat is not working correctly. Could a tech in Austin determine the problem and give instructions on correcting this? After all, it is called SMART SDR & CAT. :-)))

Yes. If your PC running SmartSDR is connected to the Internet, we can access it and and subsequently the radio via a Crossloop or TeamViewer session just like we do for PowerSDR related service issues that require remotes access by one of our tech support engineers.

In the short-term we can access your radio as Tim suggests with remote-login tools via your Windows system. Longer term we are likely to implement a service mode in the radio which you would enable via the GUI so that we can access your radio remotely without the clunky OS/Window access tools.

would this "service mode" also allow us to run ,for example, a PA recalibration routine or maybe check the fan speed sensors or even test the speeds with a routine....good "stuff" like that and more! regards Larry K1UO

Thank you Steve. I had a hunch something like you mentioned would be in the offing. An internal exam of the rig and it's software by the people in Austin could save an expensive shipping charge.
