Will DAX work when operating remotely?

I’m trying to set up Fldigi and CW skimmer( SDR Bridge Installed )but the DAX won’t switch on.

Running SmartSDR with Windows 10 remotely, so the remote tab is active so audio is being received by the local speakers.

Turned on DAX on panadapter and in menu on left hand side of screen. Tried to start channel 1 in DAX control but the radio isn’t being detected?

What am I doing wrong ?

Thanks

Glenn

DAX is currently not supported over WAN. It will not work with SmartLink.
CAT is supported via SmartLink.

For now you have to run DAX and digital decoding software on the same LAN as the radio. You can access the digital software via a remote desktop session using a program such as Team Viewer.

As Howard said, just use a VPN connection.  I run remote all the time using DogparkSDR and xDAX and xCAT.  I have also used SSDR in Windows using a VPN with DAX.  You can pick up a Raspberry PI for cheap and there are some videos online to explain how to setup.  Some routers will also let you setup a VPN.
