Is it normal for the flex to be on lower sideband and in a rag chew and you switch to upper sideband and you hear the conversation like you never switched.

It is like I was running split mode. I was receiving on lower sideband and transmitting on upper sideband. Radio said LSB. Shut down rig and restarted this morning and all is well. . . . Possible bug???

A lot more info is required when reporting bugs, like what radio are you using and what version of software.  Please provide as much detail as possible.

And, what are you *seeing* within that upper sideband?

I am using a 6300 with 1.38 version software. I was chatting on 75m and saw all the signals on LSB. Suddenly I said something and someone said "what was that"  "someone on USB" Steve you are on USB. I looked at my mode and it said USB I switched it to LSB and all was fine. This was like that the rest of the night. I changed to CW and still received LSB with no change in bandwith or display. but was transmitting on the correct mode.
