Why would rig<>software VSPm com ports be removed upon computer shut down?

Maybe someone can give me a clue why this happens. Either 5K or 6.5K. I use the new DDUt and VSPM Quite a few pairs to connect with all my programs. virtual ports 31 is the Flex Cat Port and virtual port 32 DDUt port But after every computer restart, that above mention pair is missing. Gone, I have to recreate them each time. I have many VSPM port pairs as I run logging, cluster, cwskimmer and other programs at all times. Smart Cat does NOT have a port that would conflict with any I create in VSPm. Anybody have an idea why and how to prevent that particular (it's the only pair) that is removed upon computer restart. pse and tu de W9OL

Removed from where; Device Manager, VSPM, both? Are these the only ports missing?0

I replied directly to Steve and I should reply here also. Only the VSPm pair I create to communicate between PSDR and DDuT are lost upon shut down The pairs created for: DXBase FlexMemory N1MM CWSkimmer WSJT DXLabs all remain, only the pair that connects the Flex Radio and DDUt port are lost every time I shut down and reboot. They work fine while in use, nothing else is running that may be corrupting them that I can see.0

This sounds like a permissions problem where there are not sufficient rights to make the changes persistent. Are you running VSPManager as admin (right click and select run as admin)?0

Thanks Tim...but that was one of my first ideas. It really didn't start till this last version of SMartAlek Cat... neither vspm nor SmartCat have any confilicting port assignments. I've confirmed that via Device Manager. But thanks for the suggestion0

Sorry that didn't help. Virtual comport can be particularity challenging for Windows to manage. it isn't completely SmartSDR CAT's fault that these issues plague some users.0

I'm sure it has to do with my COMPLICATED setup up. As all the programs I use are interconnected. But I have to solve this issue before I can put the 6.5K into the system and run multi rig. Doing so before it's solved would just add fuel to the confusion. LOL0
