Which mic to select from dropdown list when mine is not listed?

I have a dynamic microphone here, a Sennheiser e835,  that I would like to use with my brand new Flex 6600M but it doesn't seem to work using the BAL MIC input when selecting any one of the choices from the dropdown mic type list.  My Sennheiser dynamic mic is not listed there.  The Flex hand mic works fine installed as intended but my dynamic mic wont unless I use an outboard mic preamp, which I'd rather not do.  One question I have is should I be using a dynamic mic with a higher level output, perhaps like the PR-781, or could I possibly have an XLR cable issue here?  I have been successfully using a standard XLR to 1/4" TRS cable with the Sennheiser mic along with the mic preamp on another rig.

The mic profiles are just a small sample of commonly used mics with the radio. You can in fact use any mic. If you want to start with “default” and then experiment with what works. There are BIAS and +20dB settings as well as the transmit EQ. Play with those and see what works. For a dynamic mic you won’t need the BIAS but you may need the +20dB. But the outboard preamp may work better. There is no one size fits all here.

... and there quite a few youtubes available to show you how to customize the TX profile to optimize your mike's characteristics to produce a great quality on-air audio presence!  Once you have everything set up the way you want it, then just save a new MIC profile using a name that makes sense for you.
