The idea being, based on the order number we can figure out among ourselves where we are in the line, and then we can also figure out the delivery time line based on the reports of the shipping notification.
I'll start
Ordered on 2/2/2017 Order number AB-11650

And trying to determine possible ship dates using your order number is admirable, but it is not that accurate for predicting delivery times.
This same type of academic exercise was tried when the FLEX-6000 and it produced limited results.
We will ship the PGXL based on order date and time. Since only a deposit has been required at this point, we will have to collect the final payment before shipment. If we have difficulties doing that, after a period of trying, we'll skip that order and ship for a customer that we can contact. Also, there will be some order attrition during this process as well, it happens all the time and is expected. Once shipping starts, we will ship low volumes initially and ramp up over the course of a week or two to work out the workflow kinks. And you have to factor in that everything ordered from our commerce system receives an order number, from a $25 cable to a FLEX-6700, so these factors skew the "linearity" of the order data.
The PGXL alpha units are undergoing testing now (and the results have been very good). We expect to have pre-production beta units next month for final testing. If testing of the pre-production units goes well, production units will follow after that, so we are still targeting fall for delivery.

Pretty much said some or parts of what you reiterated. And yes it is not a perfect solution and we would never ask Flex about where we sit in the queue, etc. as we are aware of the problems that can also cause.
But it is my opinion that some value can be obtained from this if nothing more then entertainment and a way of keeping the excitement going. This was originally meant to be a more literal thing. i.e. I can expect that if someone with an order number near mine reports that they have a ship date, that I may soon get a call also. Not to guess that mine will be on x date and Joes will be on such and such a date.
Although I still believe that I am at least 40 back or more from the number one order, and that puts me late in the year. again not knowing run rate, etc. this is a WAG (Wild Arse Guess) but I would be happy to be surprised that I was wildly wrong :)

If anyone missed these I find these links interesting part of history of Flexradio history.
The openness of the company. This is how they do it.

Yes, I need professional help!!! After all I have to get some transverters, amplifiers, receive preamplifiers and antennas for 2, 1.25 and 0.7 Meter bands.
And to think this all started years ago with a Kenwood TS-520SE...

"We are working day and night on producing Power Genius XL amplifiers.
Here are some pictures to show where we’re at at the moment.
First products will be delivered to FlexRadio in second half of September 2017.
FlexRadio will require about two weeks to polish the software.
After this process the amplifiers will be ready to ship.
Next production batch is planned to be complete by the end of 2017 or early 2018.
I am sure that the above estimate does not include any "slippage" or "gotchas", but it is nice to read.

Obviously they're having serious problems they're still trying to resolve. We need to give them time if we're to stick with FlexRadio.

We are working very hard over here to move as quickly as we can. We are being very meticulous on our roll out of the amplifier to make absolutely sure that every unit that goes out the door is completely solid. We are doing extensive testing and burn in for that purpose. While this takes longer we are confident that this is the right thing to do.
We sincerely appreciate your patience while we ramp up.
Best,
Matt Youngblood

In any event, yes, there is a utility program that you use to set the initial configuration of the amp, and to make changes later, if needed. It also reproduces the amp front panel on your computer screen for convenience. Apart from the configuration step and other rarely done things, you can ignore this program if you want to.
When the amp is driven by a Flex 6000 radio, you need to tell the amp which radio to assign to the A and B amplifier ports. That is done by 6000 serial number using the program. You also tell the amp if you are keying it over the Local Area Network, or via a wired PTT line. If you are driving the amp with another manufacturer's radio, then you need to provide some information about that radio.
This program is also used to set the fan profile to "Standard", "Contest" and "Broadcast" and to do things like customize the IP address assignment, if you want to do that.
And, when it comes time to update the amp's firmware, this is the program that pumps the image from a file into the amp. This is probably the most important thing the program does, but also the rarest. Changes to the amp firmware can make significant changes to the way the amp works and to its safety and reliability, so firmware updates are important.

Therefore your AB-11835 could be PowerGenious-XL number 5 as far as amps is concerned.
