Hi guys, like in the title, what's the proper way to upgrade to v1.5 .? In the past I've just installed the upgrades along with all the others, should I uninstall the old versions? I know with this I need to remove freedv but it has me thinking about the other stuff. Many thanks Kev

Why you don't read the install instructions from FRS, coming with update? :-(

You can get a lot of different answers here ;-)

IMHO the best way is and always was to uninstall the all old versions,
saving profiles first. Then restart pc, install new version, clean up pc,
restart pc, reset and restart trx. Reinstall profiles and waveforms.

Kev - there is no "best way", but there is a caveat that is described in the release notes (the reason for Chris' comment) that indicates if you plan on uninstalling previous versions of SmartSDR, it is best to do it before you install a new version.  There is no need to uninstall DAX or FlexVSP drivers unless instructed specifically to do so (not necessary with SmartSDR v1.5.0).  Also, as indicated in the release notes, you will need to uninstall the FDV waveform if you have it installed as the 1.4.16 version is not compatible with SmartSDR v1.5.0.

Whether or not you export your profiles before updating is up to you.  It should not be necessary, but some consider it a best practice to have a backup before making software changes.  It never hurts to do a profile backup.

Thanks Tim & Alex, I did it your way Alex, as I had so many versions on the PC I was getting a bit paranoid that something would cause an issue. Very happy with V1.5 It's all working fine including D-Star :-)

    Thanks again Kev
