What to start first?

I am reading the documentation in anticipation in getting the 6300 in a couple of weeks or so.

Which is the 'correct' way to start? Load SmartSDR and then the 6300 or the other way around? Some instructions seem to suggest 6300 and then SmartSDR, but I have seen one suggestion that SSDR and then 6300 is okay too.

Sorry for the noob question and thanks in anticipation for answering. I have amazing bad luck when buying stuff. So much so that if somebody wanted a known good item, I could buy one first (and get the duff one) increasing the probability that the next one (yours) would be perfect.

I always seem to get faulty items so want to make doubly sure I am doing the right thing and rule out operator error when firing up things, especially for the first time.

Guy - the 6000 is designed so that it doesn't matter which component you start first; the radio or the SmartSDR software (client). When you boot your PC, the DAX and CAT clients are automatically started regardless if the radio hardware is running. I usually leave the radio hardware running 7x24 so that my start times are minimized.
