My Win 7, Neil built computer is working fantastically..
What benefit, if any, would upgrading to Win10 offer me on this Radio only computer?
This current Win 7 Neil built is displaying on 3 monitors , all my ham programs and not a hiccup.
What would I get (if anything) by going win 10?

Pse et tu, de W9OL, mostly cw and digital, DXing and contesting op.
pse et tu  (for you phone guys, that means Please and Thank You for the contact)

It will be interesting to hear what people say about that. The Problem going forward with Win 7 is support. Drivers and such. So newer programs may not run on Win 7 as they are being released for Win 10 and up.

That being said, there is no reason you won't continue to have a good working system for some time to come with the software package you are using now. If it is running well for you stick with it I think. Win 10 is not secure yet as it is constantly going through updates. Till it settles down Flex will not support it yet.

Give Microsoft some money in 2020 and - maybe - they'll prolong support for 7
as they did for XP for the U.S. Navy

Windows 10 is still in beta and will not be officially released until July 29th.  You are getting operating system REPLACEMENTS, not updates. Until then all reported problems related to Windows 10 will be classified as "not a problem" as we do not support it yet nor is there any action FlexRadio is prepared to take to investigate or resolve until Windows 10 is a released operating system.

Very very good answer Tim.
That alone tells me to wait. Thank you Timbo....
Going back to my room and work stations and not worry about having the newest version.

Yes Bill, it is still beta. For the purpose of this question however, none, the answer is none. Not now, not after GA. Do you buy a new car every year because the manufacturer came out with a newer model? I still run Windows XP...it did not stop working and I really don't care if uSoft stopped supporting it.

if you're running Win7 and it's working for you, and you only care about running SSDR, a digimode program, your logging program, and perhaps a browser... There are very, very few benefits to installing Win10. Vanishingly few.

Keep your Win7 system secure, keep it patched, run a good AV program, stay off dodgy web sites, and don't use Adobe Flash. You're good to go.

Win7 is a very stable, capable, platform.

Never change a running system...
When Win10 is here I will surely try it on my ThinkPad with interchangeable
harddisks. Clone a HDD - install Win10 - see if it works - try out all ham progs -
if it doesn't - discard it - if it does - keep it ;-)

also win 10 you can not disable automatic updates,so you will be constanley downloading update that could upset your setup.
