VPN Audio lost with Router changeout

changed out the Remote location Router (replaced with the exact same Router as old one developed a problem) and enabled the PPTP VPN side again exactly as before.  I can connect solid every time over the VPN from here at home 10 miles away but nine times out of 10 I get no REMOTE audio back.  Its like the VPN is connecting audio on a different port as I hear a quick audio blip when I leave the radio running but disconnect the VPN connection.   Then sometimes when I reconnect the VPN I have the 6700's remote audio ok.   I sometimes see multiple connect notices on my home screen and still no audio.  Is there someplace to look for the audio without trying a dozen times before I hit the right audio port .  it does not appear to be a firewall block.

Any ideas or hints would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE:  Finally gave up on the ASUS PPTP VPN and installed Softether VPN Server at the Remote radio location.    Used the onboard Win 7 VPN client and now connect via L2TP which is much better than the on board ASUS VPN system. If I recall ..L2TP should also let me connect with the iPad.  A plus.

Thanks to Chris K6OZY for his excellent tutorial on uTube...  Just needed the parts and Softether VPN Server explanations in the last half of Video to get going...  minus a few "guffaws" I created all by myself :-)

Still don't have the answers to the above initial questions but now I DON'T CARE........  There is a suspicion it is internal to the ASUS Router and was not cleared up by successive factory resets so must have corrupted the area where VPN info is stored.
