Virtual Desktops

Even with 2 x 27” monitors (one is 4k, the other HD...a slightly odd combination I know) I am running out of screen space.  Following a recent suggestion on the forum I’ve been experimenting with virtual desktops.  That works fine, and if I create a second desktop I can place necessary but less used programs.  It is very easy to flick between the main screens and this second desktop.  However this setup is lost when I power down and reboot the PC.  The second desktop remains there but is empty.  I then have to load these programs and move them into the second desktop again.

Is there a way I can automate this process?  For example I often like to run Log4OM and SliceMaster in the second desktop, leaving the main screens running Chrome, SSDR v2, WSJT-X, JT-Alert, etc.  Perhaps there’s some clever macro to automatically achieve this for me?

Running a 6500, Windows 10 64bit.

You can probably use windows Powershell to create a batch file and run in the startup folder to do what you want.

Or take a look at AutoHotkeys.
