V2 direct connect after V2 setup

I have a dual nic motherboard.  Up until this week I have had the radio( Flex 6500) connected direct and it has worked well.  I moved the cable from the PC to my router for the V2 install and the upgrade was great.  The computer is connected to the router.

I then made the attempt to move the radio cable back to direct connect  and had zero success.  SSDR shows the radio but it wont connect.

I have no plans to use Smartlink or any other remote connection.
Am I missing something here or is this the nature of the beast?

If the radio is directly connected to the PC, did you reboot both the radio and the PC after making the connection?

When I installed V2 I connected the radio was connected to my router.  After V2 was setup I moved the radio cable back to the computer.
So long as both radio and PC are connected to the router all works well. Connect the radio direct to the computer and no joy.
Clearly, this is not at all important - I just like to connect the radio direct and if I can't I want to know why :)

You did not answer my question.  Did you reboot both the radio and the PC after connecting them both back together (direct connect)

That did it!
Since they have both been up and down several time in the last two days I thought that sufficed - obviously not.  I just did a complete shutdown and restart and that fixed it.
Thanks
