Using 2 cw keys ?

Just ordered a 6600, so I am a newbee to the Community. Currently have a K3 that I have both a straight key and paddles plugged into at the same time. So moving back and forth is seamless. In that the 6600 only has one plug for a "key". Can anyone share with me how they might be using both types of keys and the quickest way to shift back and forth??

Here is how I wired my bug and straight key etc ...

You can connect your straight key or electronic keyer output to the ACC jack between pin 4 and pin 5 (GROUND). You will need a 15 pin high density male connector. I found one at my local Hobby Town store.

I made a little switch box that I can hook up 5 keys at once. I connected the output of the switch box to the ACC jack. I can instantly switch between many different mechanical keys or external electronic keyer.

With this wiring, you will only need:
1, Six conductor cable - (length as necessary)
2. Stereo plug
Soldering iron, and elbow grease and go at it!0 -
I use a bug, a straight key and a paddle with a Winkeyer all at the same time. I simply used audio Y cables to connect all three in parallel to the Straight Key input on my Flex. Of course, this arrangement does not use Flex built-in keyer. But does not require any construction at all and all keys are available all the time.

Tnx
for all the replies, I like the switch-box idea and will build one to connect to the 6600.

Question on wiring for those that have built or acquired a switch box to allow use of a straight key or paddles with the one "key" plug on the 6600. On page 21 of the 6600 Hardware reference,it says for a straight key use the tip & sleeve. And for a CW paddle use the tip, ring & sleeve. So my plan is to use a small ABS box, two stereo plug sockets and a DPDT switch. My question is how handle the (3) T-R-S wires with only two poles on each side of the DPDT switch?? or do I need a different switch ?

If you only have one paddle and one straight key (or bug) and you want to use the electronic keyer in the Flex then you can simply connect the paddle directly to the Flex key jack as discribed in the manual. Then connect your straight key between pin 4 and 5 of the ACC jack on the back of the flex. No need to make a switch box unless you are trying to use many keys with many radios. My switch box allowed me to switch between 5 radios and 5 keys.
If you want to use external keyer then you can do as Jim described above.
