USB/LSB

Today when I went out to my shack my radio was still on and it was on 80m SSB/LSB. I changed the band to 10m and it changed frequency but remained on LSB. I tried to change it but it wouldn't change. I tried changing to other bands but it still remained in LSB and wouldn't change. I tried restarting SSDR with no help. I tried restarting my 6500 and still, only LSB. Finally in a move of desperation I reverted to 1.3 and it began working correctly. I then went back to 1.38 and everything remained normal.

I suppose I could have done a database reset but didn't want to go through all the issues getting things back to normal.

The problem is fixed but I thought I would pass it along.

The behavior you reported was an issue with band persistence.  I suspect reverting cleared the part of the database hat was causing the problem.

Maybe we should change this to a tip. It seems to solve the problem without all of the trauma of a complete database flush.

That may not work reliably in all cases.  Resetting to factory defaults will ensure a new database is created.

I had a problem like this but it involved AM, I was using the GEN Band and changed the frequency to 10.0 MHz and the display information said it was in AM but you could see it was in LSB on the panadapter, I changed the display to USB and this worked then to LSB that worked also but when ever I changed it back to AM it would display as LSB. I had to delete the slice receiver and add a new slice receiver back to get the mode to react as it should.

When this has happened to me I just turn the slice off and then back on and its fine.  I started turning off my slice before I shut down for the night and its been fine. Re Starting the radio and software never helped only turning the slice of and back on solved it.
