I’m certain that each of these topics may have been discussed in separate posts, but for the benefit of those new to Flex radios and SmartSDR I’d like to get recommendations on how to proceed with the following topics.
What is the proper way to get rid of a previous version of the SmartSDR software? Should we first install an update and assuming it works correctly, simply uninstall the previous version? If we uninstall them, are the saved profiles also deleted?
If profiles are exported and saved in a separate location, will future updates of the SmartSDR software always be compatible to the “legacy” profiles, OR, should we always export and replace profiles from the most current version, for later exportation to the next anticipated update?
Now that we have network capability, SmartSDR software may be installed on more than one computer, requiring each PC to be updated each time an update is released. Is there a possibility that accidentally attempting to run an older version of SmartSDR software on a radio that has a newer version could cause any permanent damage? If this scenario were to occur, will SmartSDR alert the user that the client software needs to be updated?
