Update to latest software

At the moment on my 6500 and Maestro, I am running an early version of SDR Smart on both. I am now ready and set up to update to the latest version (2.4.9) and want to know if I can install this and it will add all previous updates etc to my equipment.

I am also trying to find out what it will cost to do this. I can't find an actual price on the Flex website. I am in the UK but happy with a Dollar price.

    Hi Bill

I am assuming you are at Version 1.x.

Yes, you can go right to version 2.4.9.  Download the software from the web site and install it.  As part of the process, you will be asked to pay for V2.

Make sure you radio is connected to the Internet/LAN while doing so.  If you radio is isolated from the internet, the final authorization will not complete.

    This video should help too!

I think he was asking for the cost also: 200 dollars.

If I remember correctly, the software update detects that the radio is not authorized for 2.x Smart SDR software and will prompt you to pay the US$200 fee online via credit card. Hope that helps, Ken

Thanks Mike, Jim & Ken for your help and it is now clear to me. The video is excellent and does explain the process really well.

    Thanks again,
