Unable to key or find Com/Ports with Version 1.7.30

My Flex 6700 was in storage for the past 18 months. The last version of SmartSDR installed was v.1.3. Needles to say, I installed the latest version 1.7.30.

I am a user of all the digital modes; specially JT65/9 etc. However, I cannot find where the Com/Ports are located? I looked for hidden ports as the administrator in Device Manager and there were none in sight. "No ghosted Com/Ports found."

I looked in the Flex Forum for answers and checked George's (YV5W) video. However, he was describing v.1.6 and a brief description of v.1.7. "A must see video" Excellent!

I have the icon for CAT v.1.7.30 which install/deleted several times, with no success.

Where or how can I have access to set the Com/Ports?

WJST-X v1.6.0 is receiving but I'm not able to transmit; no Com/Port to key.

Using Flex-6700 SmartSDR v1.7.30

Windows 10

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide

Thank you Howard ... Will get to work on Win10
I follow those instructions after I installed Win10.I spoke to Dudley about it.
The problem has been that I can't get rid of FlexVSP error. I deleted that error in the Control Panel, Programs and Features. And kept coming up. Then I was advised to use Revo Uninstaller Pro. I thought that was going to do it. Well, it's still present.; It comes up everytime I boot the computer. I search for the Fabulatech (? spelling) the Company that wrote the software; Regedit never founded either.

Did you add com ports to Smart Cat ?
Clicking the Cat icon brings up the menu and at the lower left hand side is the add-button.

Clicking the CAT icon does not open. Nothing comes up. That is the problem.

The CAT icon is in the taskbar. However, the only thing it opens when I click on it, it's  a "FlexRadio Systems SmartCAT error."

Do you have other virtual serial port software installed? My friend had both a 6500 and Anan. He had VSPM and SmartCAT installed and could not get SmartCAT working. I had to uninstall both and then manually cleaned all remnants of both from the registry before rebooting and reinstalling latest SmartSDR.

    okay...

In the Settings -> System -> Apps
      is FlexVSP installed?

If you **** the Smart Cat and start it again from a command prompt

      C:Program FilesFlexRadio SystemsSmartSDR v1.7.30SmartSDR CAT> .Cat.exe

    are there any errors?

I would try uninstalling the VSP driver and then re-install it using admin priv.

    David,
I have no serial or virtual ports showing in Device Management. As a matter of fact, when I open DM, there is no remarks about Com/Port to open.
They were there when I was running Win7. However, after installing Win10 DM did away with being able to see the Com/Port. In other words they were gone/hidden or deleted; how? I don't know.

    Tim,
I will work on your suggestion.
It looks like your suggestion may be the answer. I have not look for VSP drivers. I will keep trying and post later this afternoon the results.

    Tim, Howard and David,

I have twice deleted SmartSDR v1.7.30. Shut off the radio by disconnecting the DC source, reinstalled the software. and the error still  there.

Tried the command prompt under administrator; copied and paste the command and typed them in case there was an error. Zilch no luck no how.

I used Revo uninstaller, checked the registry and there was no trace of FlexVSP error. I did notice that Revo had a CAT version 64 bit that was delete ...

I guess I will be in communication with Flex Desk to see what I can do, that I have not done already.

    Thanks to all

    PROBLEM SOLVED!

Dudley at FRS remote control to my PC with TeamViewer solved the problem in less than 2 minutes!

When was it the last time your rice box company repaired your radio that quickly?

Tim's instructions on how to delete "FlexVSP Error"  needs to be revised.

    Thank you Flex.
