What type and size of tool needed for top removal of 6500 for cleaning?

Reggie, it takes a T-8 Star bit.  Ask your hardware store for a kit with small star bits.  There are other screws that take a T-10, and I'll bet that there are yet other screws of even different sizes, but I've never taken the bonnet off my 6500.

I've made a lot of money on people who never have, specifically PCs and laptops. Given this is effectively a PC at its heart it makes sense to open it up from time to time to blow the dust and fluff out of the two heatsinks.
