TX RCA connector is asserted when no TX slice is selected in SSB and CW Bad interaction with Alpha 9500 that goes into Keyed mode and doesn't return to Unkeyed when TX opens

Please describe this in more detail so we can fully understand what is happening. How are you keying the radio when there is no active TX slice?

No slice active for TX. Amp in operate mode in the UNKEYED state. Press PTT in SSB or close key (non iambic) in CW. Amp goes to KEYED state and sticks there. Select TX on the slice and pulse the mike or key and the amp returns to UNKEYED state. My surmise is the Flex is closing the TX1 contact even though no slice is active for TX. To be fair I'd argue the Alpha firmware also has a bug and should return to UNKEYED state. Is there a reason to close the TX contacts when no slice is active for TX?

Excellent. I have entered this behavior as a defect for further investigation.

Hi TIm. I just confirmed this is happening with my SPE amplifier as well. If TX is not selected, the amp is locked in transmit until TX is selected and PTT. This is probably in the interlock logic. Jim WD5IYT

I've asked about enable/disable switches for each of the TX ports ~ a month ago. The chickens have come home to roost :-( All the TX ports are "hot"...all the time, whatever invokes a TX enable. The TX port switching arrangement in PSDR 2.6.4 covered all the bases. Take a look at the Smoothlake PTT/Interlock timing chart too :-) and see everything collapse concurrently with PTT release. Makes QSK nice with QSK amps that afford a TX enable output for the 6xxx, but may cause issues elsewhere. Food for thought......
