Tuner Genius update

Any update on the tuner genius?  I was searching some older posts and there was a post by Matt from Flex 4 months ago saying that shipment would hopefully start by the end of the year.  Since it's almost the end of the year, I was hoping for an update.  Any update would be greatly appreciated.

This is the most recent update I can recall:

     https://community.flexradio.com/flexradio/topics/pg-xl-and-antenna-genius-news-from-4o3a-forum?topic-reply-list[settings][filter_by]=all&topic-reply-list[settings][reply_id]=20348508#reply_20348508

The team at 4o3a in a recent email said they were not ready to release any technical details, but the product development is progressing.

They also were not ready to offer a timeline.

Actually they didn't lift the veil on any aspect.

Other than confirming that as of Nov 22nd 2019 that the Tuner Genius is an active product in current development and the general statements over time on remote-ops/tuner-placement I do not think there is anything more released for general knowledge to know yet.

Dragisa 4O9ITT's November 20th update is the last update, public or private, I've seen.

"Not quite soup yet" as they say.

The 4o3a Tuner Genius is not the only auto-tuner that is taking a very long time to come to market - I wrote about some of the others back on Nov 14th at https://k9zw.wordpress.com/2019/11/14/alpha-4040-automatic-antenna-tuner-kessler-at-auto-and-4o3a-tuner-genius-a-group-of-stillborn-projects/

Just wanted to bump this to see if Flex or anyone has any updates on the tuner.  I wasn't able to attend the Orlando hamfest but curious if anyone was able to talk to Flex about the tuner.  I have emailed flex sales but I have gotten no reply.

FRS has solidly put information on the Tuner Genius in a Push-mode where they will release information when they want it released.

Doesn't look like Pull-mode requests are going to get any attention at this moment.

That Push-mode is why they have their Marketing Department.

Sort of like the kiddies in the back seat "Daddy, are we there yet?" doesn't often get much of a real answer, as it is obvious that "no we are not there yet..."

I'm hopeful they will start some information flowing in te run up to Dayton.  But that is just my wishful thinking.

So that answer appears to our "is it soup yet?" question that "No, not soup yet." is the implied answer.  ( as of Feb 6th 2020)

I'm not looking for a "date" from Flex radio but it would be nice to have an update on the status of the tuner.  IE: we have some tuners being tested, etc.  Does the tuner even exist yet?  It's been almost 3 years since I put in my order for the amp and I've had the amp almost a year now.  I have been holding off buying a tuner because I'm supposed to get a free Tuner Genius since I ordered my amp before December of 2017.

I can fully understand and appreciate your frustrations over the delays. As I commented recently on a different thread, we are working on the TunerGenius.  When we have information ready to share, it will be shared ASAP.

As another 2017 pre-order customer: it would be really nice to get a  preliminary data sheet for the Tuner Genius.

What are the dimensions? Airflow? Noise? Power requirements? AC or DC power? Networking requirements? Will it work remote over SmartLink. Will it require another Windows Agent?  Will support be added to SSDR (a la PGXL)?  Configuration management: does it have two Antenna ports to work with the Flex/PGXL/AG or do I pick one port?

Have to believe all this is decided, known and shareable if release is planned for this calendar year. Would be great to find some middle ground on disclosure. And would be nice to know specs for what I have on order!

It helps for space planning, power planning, network planning. Do I need one or two for full coverage across both antenna ports?

As I just commented, we are working on the TunerGenius.  When we have information ready to share, it will be shared.  We are not inclined to publish partial information on a product where that information is possibly subject to change.

But Tim, I really-really need information on the tuner. I'm saying I have critical need here! I'm redecorating my shack and, no later than this Monday, I've got to order curtains that color-match the tuner.

    J/K ;-)

I wish there was more information available as it's been over 3 years now.  But I do appreciate you responding.  At least hearing that it is being worked on is promising.
