I saw in another post that you were still waiting on an answer to this.

NO!  This is not normal.  The tune button on my 6300 is blue when it's actually sending out RF.  Once I click on it again, the RF stops and it goes grey (as it should be in receive).  The MOX button also turns blue when TUNE is active and goes out (grey) once TUNE is toggled off.

I would power down your 6400, pull the DC power cable for a minute, then restart the radio and SmartSDR.  If that doesn't resolve it, then try the old standby - do a full factory reset on the radio.

It seems like the SmartSDR client and the radio aren't dancing to the same tune:  The radio has TUNE off (because it's in receive), but the client says TUNE is on (but somehow receiving).  Strange!

The Mon button also should be gray in receive.

Is this persistent after a full shutdown of both computer and the radio?

If it did it would have transmitted but it was receiving and was blue. You get the blue when transmitting

Yes. Looking on an iPhone so I didn’t give it good enough attention.

What about the persistence after a cold reboot?

Looks like you are trying to transmit out-of-band.

One thing to check is whether any other application connected to the radio via CAT or IP? Other applications can do funny things sometimes (DXLab for example sets my filters in CW, and I cannot change on the on the radio)...  Best to top everything on your shack computers, except SmartSDR...

It looks like it was a transmit fault and the TUNE status indicator did not get updated.  I entered this in as a defect (#6419)
