What's an "M" model?  Another reason to get to Dayton/Xenia.  Maybe M means Maestro included?

I don't know.  I found these references in the flyer referenced in Tim's SmartLink announcement.

I believe that may have been a slip up!    I wonder what the 2 new rigs are and what the M represents.  Any guesses?

Made my guesses at:  https://k9zw.wordpress.com/2017/05/08/hamvention-2017-flexradio-systems-smartsdr-product-launches-pr...

which is updated with tidbits & teases from FRS.

You have done interesting guesses there Steve.... But, 6400 and 6600 as replacements of the 6300 and 6500?not sure .why do you think that ?

My thought is the product segment spread between the 6300 and 6500 is not great enough to sub-segment with an additional radio.  Though the 6500 to 6700 spread is larger, technical differences make it unlikely a new radio would be different enough to again divide the product line.

Some reports that new 6300 and 6500 orders were on backorder also tilt my thoughts.

The M is a mystery and may also be an indicator of a "Master" for units that can slave other Flex-6000s or "Multi" for ones that can do the future multi-client feature that will eventually be in the Version 2.0 release cycle.

We will know in a week, right?

If you are going to Xenia Salvador, let's catch up over a beer!

I will be either in Dubai or Madrid, so no Hamvention for me, yet again... Might make it to Friedrichshafen though... :)

It had to be done on purpose... Otherwise, how do you miss that on a 2 page document?

The PDF is gone, it seems. I expect a redacted version to arrive shortly.  This is a very advanced marketing strategy!

Wouldn't make much sense to revise the pdf at this point, it's already out there. :)

Was the PDF a Freudian Slip or a McLuhan "Message"??

Sure a way to get a community post every 3 to 4 minutes and a buzz going!

Guess it really doesn't matter which, because yes FRS has our attention!

Of course they may have something completely different at Xenia, as list on a pdf doesn't make a product a reality!

Maybe it was a bit of a slip-up to have this information escape into the wild the Friday before Mother's Day.  I sense that there is more than one XYL that might not care to discuss the financing of a new rig this weekend.  On the other hand, I'm sure a 6600 will be cheaper than a new bass boat. :-)

Clicking on the Smartlink Flyer link from the latest Community Announcement area gets  a 404 error.  Anyone able to get this flyer?  Would like a copy if available.

I would guess "M" is a maestro combo package.

I'm guessing the new hardware is a radio with an integrated/detachable Maestro front panel.

Also, maybe with the larger case required for knobs and buttons of the Maestro front panel, they went ahead and put a 200W PA inside.

These two changes, together, would put Flex back on top of the competition (ANAN, Expert, ICOM).

If this is the case, the only major puzzle pieces missing are the 6300 and 6500 versions of the PowerGenius. Then, Flex will have won the game.
