One of the most interesting presentations I've seen for a very long time! Tnx for this one made by Steve Hicks N5AC, VP of Engineering at FlexRadio.

Yes it's appr. 45 min long, but really worth listening to. The future for Hamradio is bright! and I'm so happy to be part of the future, being a Flexonian :)

Great presentation Steve Hicks!  I especially liked the mini overview of the latest FPGA and ADC chips usable in SDR radios and the implication for the future.  It sounds like by using these more powerful chips Flex isn't too far away from being able to make reasonably priced SDRs that will cover 0 to 500 Mhz or even 0 to 1296 Mhz -  using essentially the architecture of the 6600.

So....10x the spectrum coverage for the same $ in the near future ???

Thanks for posting the link Johan.

Agree with you John. Very interesting facts that Steve presented about future chips and tech. We will see an amazing development I'm sure as Flex customers.

Something else that surprised me and changed my sight a bit was the part about photografy and it's development. Used to be a keen photographer many moonlaps ago. I was a bit surprised over some of the things Steve mentioned.

Well worth watching for sure1
