Terrible Rumble / Wind sound on launch

I power up the 6300, wait for green light to cycle until solid, launch software, and WOW.....sounds like a rumbling wind storm, the speakers about jump off the desk. This has now happened 4 times in the 1st week of owning this rig. I unplug  the power cord for a couple minutes, then it starts up ok.

Steve....I have noticed the exact same thing on my 6300. It has only happened about 3 times in a year. I just turn power off then back on and everything is fine. Can't figure it out either. Bob. K9LWA

I had the same issue with my 6300. I found that it seems to be related to RX equalization. By turning off RX equalization, it stopped the noise.  I leave RX equalization off, and have not had a startup issue since.

I've seen that EQ issue with my 6500, turning it off stopped it too. I'm waiting for it to do it again so I can see if  immediately re-enableing matters.

Glenn's fix is the same one that worked for me. If you leave RX EQ on when you turn the rig off and then turn it on it produces that annoying sound. Just make sure to turn RX eq off. This is definitely a bug. Has anyone reported it yet?
