Speaker connection not working

I just got my 6500.  I get audio out of the phone jack on the front.  If I plug the phones into the powered speaker output on the back, I also hear audio.

When I connect the powered speaker output to my mixer & amplifier nothing is heard.  If I connect my Elecraft K3 in the exact same way (remove the plug from the 6500 and place it in the line out for the Elecraft) I don't get any output.

Any ideas on how to proceed?

Gordon, Congrats on the 6500...

Well it seems like you have validated that the powered speakers work and confirmed that the audio output at the back works on the 6500 right?

Also since your Elecraft also fails into the mixer I'd have to say the problem is somewhere form that point forward.  I'd check your mixer carefully.

My first post and I crewed it up, but thanks for the reply mark..

The K3 works when connected to the mixer, and the 6500 does not work.  I simply move the plug from one rig to the other - everything else is the same.

So, I still need help.

Hi Gordon,
Probably not the issue but may be worth asking about the connector.....

Did the 6500 ever work with the mixer or is this first time trying?
Assuming this is the first try, sounds like the mixer is loading down the 6500 or the 6500 doesn't have enough drive for the mixer.
As a temporary test is there a way to bypass the mixer?

Is the speaker master volume slider turned down or muted (top right hand corner of the SSDR console)?

My line connection for audio is now working.  I think I may have a flaky cable.  But, it is working and I am going to leave it alone for the time being.

Thanks to all who offered help.
