Software update

Ok, I'm sure this is a simple fix..something I'm not doing right.  Twice I upgraded the latest software fix.  No problem.  Loads up.  Works fine until I turn it off.  When I turn the rig on again, I get a box that says I have to change to an old version of software because there is something I need to load.  I thought I did??  I'm going back to look again, but can't figure what I'm not doing.  Any insight for a computer illiterate.

When I made the update, my 6500 did not change the firmware. There was no mention in the instructions if this is normal. All the other changes I've made the radio always updated the firmware.

Did you remove the old version of the software before the update? If not, did you happen to launch the software using a shortcut? If so, I suspect you are launching the old version of the software and the radio is trying to downgrade.

The old software is still installed on your computer which is OK. However you must just be launching the old software ICON and that's why your getting that warning.

Make sure your clicking on the actual ICON of the updated software and you should be fixed.

I always remove the old version. Doing so solves/prevents so many problems. I do, however, keep one level back of the installer, in case I decide the old version worked better.
