SmartSDR do not connect

Guenter, DK1RI
edited March 2017 in SmartSDR for Windows
Flex 6500 SmartSDR 0.13.10 Laptop: Sony CoreI7 64Biit Win7 latest updates (German) Prolem: SmartSDR show no radios and startup connect do not work I installed from a disk copy of the CD without problems (2 times with uninstalling) Ethernet connection via router, DHCP activated, ping to flex works. Only router, laptop and flex are active in the network. Windows firewall exceptions has 4 ticked Flexradio lines, this should be ok (good work!), ticked on both networks Usually new programs will pop up the windows 7 firewall control and ask what to do with outgoing packets (enable, disable, etc) and afterward there is a corresponding line with the programm in the menu. Nothing of this happens with SmartSDR. It seems, that no packets are sent. So shutting down of the firewall control also did not help as exspected. no other firewall programms Unfortunately router and laptop has no LEDs for Ethernet traffic Sorry, quite basic problem, but have no other ideas. Any help? Tnx Guenter

This issue ended up being a problem with the Windows Firewall. For some reason, the SmartSDR Installer could not create the inbound firewall rules when the installer was run. Usually this is some sort of permissions issue and not something that is a systemic issue. In Guenter's case, he manually entered the inbound firewall rules which resolved the connectivity issue.
