Does anyone have the setup for SmartSDR with either MARS ALE or Ham ALE.

I have the Flex 6700 scanning, but it does not key the rig nor when manually keyed, no audio.

I tried and successfully setup the app, but the flex 6500 is to fast for the application. I recently read an article where the author is probably going to consider modifying the app for SDR’s.

I have MARS-ALE set up on my 6600M, and it works perfectly.  Description of my setup:

1.  DAX 1 out from the Flex.  MARS-ALE input device set for DAX 1, but it also works fine with VAC.
2.  MARS-ALE output device set to DAX Audio TX.
3.  SmartSDR CAT set up with default configuration, i.e. Slice A = COM10, etc.  I use Slice A / COM10.  NOTE - MARS-ALE seems to transmit only with Slice A, even if another Slice/COM port is used.  Don't fight with it like I did.  Just use Slice A.
4.  VSPE set up with a Splitter (allows more than one program to use the Flex simultaneously.  If you won't have multiple software accessing the rig, just use the rig COMPORT.
5.  MARS-ALE Radio 1 Com Port = Flex COMPORT mentioned above (or VSPE COMPORT).
6.  MARS-ALE rig type = KENWOOD.
7.  Do not check either the RTS or DTR for PTT buttons.  It works with CAT PTT.

I hope this helps.  If you still can't get it working, let me know and I can send some screenshots of my setup, or talk to you on the phone to walk you through the setup.

BTW, the same setup works for PC-ALE.  I've never tried HAM ALE.

Also, BTW, the Flex is NOT too fast for the app.  It works fine for me and I use it every day.

I forgot the most important thing...

8.  Create a PTT port in SmartSDR.
9.  Set the Radio1 ALT PTT Port to the Flex PTT port.

I tried to send you an email per qrz.
I would very much appreciate screen shots. I still have something wrong.
I have a cat on com 4PTT on 16 as serial with neither RTS nor DTR on.

I may have it working now. It will scan and transmit on at least most, if not all frequencies.
I would still like to have the screen shots to be sure it is correctly set up.
Thanks again to all for your help. The Flex community is great.

Any idea what I have wrong? Every time it scans to a different channel, the mode shifts to USB, the noise limiters change from off, etc. I think those screen shots would be a great help if it is not too much trouble.
