SmartSDR v2.5 and v3.0 Point Release -- Coming soon

As many of you have noticed, we have posted the release notes and manuals for the new versions of SmartSDR (both v2.5 and v3.0.24).  We expect these to be released soon.  Stay tuned for the release announcement here on the community.

Please delay this release to incorporate the profile autosave options that are being discussed into this point release.  I cant see many people being happy with being forced to autosave a profile eveytime they change a profile setting.  Either way, I will wait to upgrade until there is an option to not autosave profiles.  I've spent way too much time carefully building complex profiles to have them overwritten by autosave.

We aren't going to hold the releases, but we are paying attention.  I don't have anything more to report at this time.  If this is a show-stopper for you, then I recommend that you stick with v2.4.9.

Eric, after reading all of the posts about this subject, I'm getting the impression FRS is fighting us (Flex owners) on this issue. If it remains as an 'auto save', then I too will not upgrade to 2.5. This is beginning to leave a bad taste in my mouth.....on the heals of the unresolved noise mitigation issues. 6600, Maestro-A.

We have heard loud and clear that there are some that do not like the feature.  Also some that don't like the idea of it (and haven't tried it yet).

I suggest that in the future Flex solicits input from Flex owners BEFORE changing existing features and/or functionality.

While I'm not going to commit that we are going to check with the community first before changing software, I will commit that we are listening and open to hearing about pain points you have with our products.  It is the best way to move forward.

Having said that, I think the saying goes that if Henry Ford had asked people what they wanted they would have said a faster horse.  Point being that sometimes the better solution is not obvious and the idea may even be unpopular at first.

At first, I was not sure how I would interact with autosave, but I have to say it
has not given me any problems here. I run version 3. Appreciate all you and
