smartsdr v1.10.8 Beta USB Setup steppir

SmartSDR v1.10.8 USB works like a champ to my THPHL-1.5kfx - plug and play all the way.
Connecting to my steppir SDA 100 is another thing entirely. It works flawlessly with DDUTIL but doesn't want to play nicely when plugged into the 6500 USB.
I am using a known compatible USB to serial adapter.
Anyone have experience with this?
Thanks

Make sure you follow the instructions for interfacing a SDA-100 that are outlined the the USB Cable Interface doc. http://www.flexradio.com/downloads/usb-cable-interface-guide-pdf/

Thanks Tim,
Is the S12 Cable different from the cable I am presently using to connect through  DDUtil?  It has been so long since I set it up that I do not remember what I used - Serial??
Thanks

There are 2 cables that are said to work with flex from SteppIR.  Make sure you have the s12.  The other is used for Data out on SDA 100.

Also make sure you are connected to the Data IN port, not the Data Out port which is what you use with DDUtil.
