SmartSDR (over LAN) will loose audio - only On/Off of radio will cure the problem

Hi there,

we run several FLEX-6500s @ DK7LJ / DL0SHF. We access them (mostly when not on site) through a VPN connection.

'Local PCs' run WIN7 (Home Premium)

with
SmartSDR v1.10.16
CAT v1.10.16
DAX v.1.10.16.174
WSJT-X v1.8.0
WSJT-10 r6088
...

In the last 2 weeks I had 4-5 times the problem, that audio was completely lost. It seems to happen after switching/changing channels in DAX v1.10.16.174
So far I was unable to reproduce the exact scenario how and when this happens.

I saw this on 2 different FLEX-6500s.

Result is you loose Audio 'completely' (so pressing 'REMOTE' would not give any audio and no audio is seen in the DAX control panel any longer).

Seems headphone audio is also lost and you have to switch off/on the Flex to restore operation.

If this problem has been posted/solved b4 please point me in the right direction, could not find this problem while searching for a solution of this problem.

Thanks,

Carsten, DL6LAU

    Hi,

For the past few weeks I also have been having this same problem.

As I usually operate my Flex-6500 via my Maestro the easy action is to go to the Maestro menu, select radio and use the ‘switch radio’ command to reset the transever.

I cannot determine what action causes the problem sometimes correct operation lasts for just a few mins at other time it may be half an hour.  I feal that the problem is a software one but of course I have no proof.  Audio stops working directly from the radio headphone socket etc and also from the Maestro.  Has anyone else out there suffered this problem?

I recommend that you upgrade to the latest 1.x version of SmartSDR (1.11.12) that contains a lot of software fixes and see if the issues continue to exist.
