SMARTLINK PAN ADAPTER: I have a pyramid in my panadapter and no signals...

I setup SmartLink so I can operate my 6700 remotely.  When I fire up
SmartLink on my office computer I get a large pyramid in the pan adapter and no signals.  The audio is fine and I can hear signals, I just can't see them.

Is this a setup issue or a network/internet issue?

The SmartLink app on my IPhone works fine.

Thanks,

This is an Internet issue.  We have seen this behavior with some Internet providers that are not conforming to RFC specifications and allowing all of the fragmented VITA-49 packets to pass through their network.

It can be on either end of the connection (your home ISP or the one at the remote end or an intermediary).  It can also be a firewall setting in your office firewall too.

Try this tests, start minimizing the size of the panadapter.  if at a certain point when it is smaller than it is in the picture, the spectrum starts working, this is confirmation of my assumption about fragmented packets.

Your the man Tim,

I minimized the window and bam, the pyramid is gone and the signals are bouncing around.

Now I'm ready for some remote dxing.  The main goal is working 3Y0Z if propagation is there while I'm at work.

Tim,

I just fired up the Maestro and I'm having the same issue.  Is there a work around for the screen size on the Meastro?

Unfortunately not.  We are investigating some possible solutions to mitigate this issue, but they are still in the works.

Thanks Tim,

I know the fellas that run my home ISP and they are hams so maybe I'll get lucky. I have a few of their wifi antennas on my tower.

If it's the work internet connection, that's a large commercial ISP and I'm not so sure how far I'll get with them.

Smartlink on the computer will probably be my go to setup for now.

Your only option is to use a VPN network. Thats what I ended up going back to this week as my internet provider does not work with Smartlink either. I was waiting for Smartsdr to be update hoping Flex would fix this. I got tired of shrinking the screen size to make Smartlink work. Hopefully Flex fixes this in the future or before I get my 6600,

I'm experiencing this issue as well, making the panadapter smaller does make it responsive. Is this also related to why I have no waterfall? (Even with the panadapter functioning)?
