Smart SDR freeze up

I have a problem with intermittent freezing of the SSDR program. At first I thought it was because of using SSDR with my wireless network,  but it continues to happen even when connecting the 6700 directly to my PC.  I am using version 1.4.11 of SSDR, Flex 6700, Windows 7 professional. The computer has an 8 core AMD processor, 32 gig memory, solid state hard drive, dedicated graphics card with 2 gig memory, and two monitors. The drop outs occur randomly and frequently. They last from 1 to 8 seconds. It does not matter if I am using the remote sound streaming or not. It happens even if the only active programs are SSDR, Smart CAT and DAX. You can monitor networking activity with the Windows  Task manager. Normally the LAN shows and activity of 0.37%. When the freeze up occurs the Local Area Connection activity will drop to about 0.1 % for a period of 1 to 8 seconds and then go back up to 0.37 % and then the screen, program and sound resume normal functioning. Sometimes it will work normally for 5 to 20 minutes, then start dropping out randomly every 5 to 30 seconds. It often makes operating digital mode JT65 or JT9 impossible. Drop outs also occur when in SSB mode. Sometimes after resetting the radio the symptoms will temporarily improve for a few minutes. Turning DAX off and then back on does not help. Closing down and restarting SSDR program does not help. The network Diagnostic Screen shows network status :Excellent, Latency 1 ms or less, max latency 80 ms, remote RX rate 77 kbps (this drops to about 26 kbps during a freeze up), and no dropped packets.

Not sure if I left out any pertinent info about the situation. I have attempted to include a screen shot showing the Windows Manager networking screen showing the drop outs. LAN activity is middle panel on left screen. Lower panel on left is wireless network connections and its activity does not seem to have any relationship with the LAN activity.
