Slice question

I've had the luck to play extensively with a lot of really good radios. Recently, Our club purchased a K3S loaded. But I have  a question about the Panadapter vs slice.

When tuning my Flex, the cursor runs smoothly up or down, allowing me to home in on signals rapidly.
On the K3S, changing the frequency is no where near as smooth. The signal I'm trying to hit on goes away for a short time, and there appears to be a lot of noise as I move. Our K3 aficionados do not complain, so it isn't a malfunction.

Anyone here know the technical reasons for smooth versus not so smooth?

Hi Michael,

Does changing the Tuning Step size on the K3 help?

The P3 from Elecraft has two display modes - one the cursor moves on the panadapter display, the other, the panadapter display itself moves and the cursor stays in the middle. Looks like you are seeing the latter behavior. I find my P3 as smooth as my 6600M, although the display on the 6600 sure is better :-)

I'll have to take a loot at the options next time I'm at the station. Thanks, guys!
