When sharing my 6500 with someone to use via Smartlink do they need there own Smartlink Login connected to my radio or do I just share my login? Related to this question, they they own 6300. Can that radio be on v1.10 and my radio be on v2. How will radio chooser look or act under this circumstance Mike N9DFD

Mike, as before: must always the same software version on both sides. All other make no sense!
(in case of using Maestro or SSDR)

I think the connection of 2x F6  radios will not work (master - **** ).

LoginIn windows has to answer Tim

Thanks Chris The scenario I'm asking is sharing my radio with my father who is antenna restrict on his 6300. If we did a version 2 install on my 6500 so he could use it when I am not, he will have a better exerpeimce due to antenna differences. When I am using my radio he can then use v1.10 to control his own 6300 locally. (Not at same time). That seems like it should work but just asking for real world trial is tested The login question I will wait for response. Thanks Mike N9 DFD

    Mike,

To answer the first question - you and your friend would need to use the same SmartLink login as the radio is registered to only one SmartLink login.

To answer the second question - Your friend can have both 1.x and 2.x version of SmartSDR installed but has to choose which version of CAT and DAX. Since the 2.0 release will not support remote DAX, during installation he can uncheck to install CAT and DAX and it will leave the 1.x versions on his machine. He will then have two SmartSDR icons on the desktop. Use the 1.x for his local radio and the 2.x for SmartLink to your radio.
