SDR 1.10 Autotuner Support Request

Mike James - WJ7U
edited June 2020 in New Ideas
I noticed that the Palstar AT-Auto tuner is supported by the upcoming 1.10.8 beta release. Would it be possible to include support for their HF-Auto tuner? I realize that their RS232 protocol is proprietary, but evidently Terry Glagowsky (W1TR) was able to obtain enough relevant documentation to include support for it: http://www.glagowski.org/radio/Software.htm

Thanks,
Mike WJ7U

Mike. I've been looking for auto tuner support in the release notes but without success. Could you please post a link? Thanks!

    Mike,

The USB implementation only supports the CAT protocol. Custom programming would be left to the manufacturer.

Paul @ Palstar is unwilling to share his tuner's protocol and without that cooperation you won't see any support in SmartSDR for USB to serial adapters.

You will still need to run W1TR's program to talk to the tuner.
