RTTY, DxLab and FSK

Wondering if this is normal behavior, or perhaps I'm setup wrong. When I select a RTTY station in Spot Collector, Commander gets set to "RTTY" mode and sends an "MD6" or FSK command to SSDR (I checked). SSDR responds by going into DIGL regardless of band (e.g. 20m). WinWarbler decodes just fine. In fact, if I configure so it goes into USB, I have to set receive-reverse to decode. I'm just accustomed to USB (or DIGU on Flex) for the digital modes, so I wonder if this is normal. Thanks es 73, Brad - N6SPM

Brad, RTTY is always sent LSB - even on HF bands so the configuration change to DIGI-L is correct. The convention is that the SPACE signal ) for RTTY is sent as the lowest frequency of a pair of tones. The MARK is by convention the highest tone. Stu K6TU

Thank you Stu. I've not operated much digital so it's a learning experience for me. 73 Brad
