RTTY-L or RTTY-U

Is it possible to provide (say in the SSDR Radio Setup) an option for RTTY-LSB and RTTY-USB, like we have CWU/CWL? It's not a huge deal, but many RTTY applications have gone over to tuning for an USB signal, which leaves us "upside down" in RTTY mode.

Easy fix for FLDIGI is to set a mode macro that includes the REV command, of course. Just looking to save a step.

Thanks!

Hi George,

I just started playing with the 6300 (I have had a 5000a for a while)  and I noticed with FLDigi the waterfall display is reversed in RTTY (higher freq signals are lower on the display and lower are higher) but fine in DIGU? GO FIGURE..... never had this in PWRSDR, but I am only 4 days into SSDR....

Still trying to figure if this is a FLDIGI setup issue or SSDR...... BTW, RTTY seems to operate fine in digi u ..... Am I missing any benefits not being in RTTY?

When in RTTY mode using the latest SmartSDR XML files, it will properly configure Fldigi in the right mode (reversed) for demodulating RTTY

Thanks Tim, I just read the thread about RTTY, REV and LSB USB.

This is interesting because I just got the 6300 on Saturday, put 1.10.15 in Saturday and FLDIGI 3.23.21 in too! ...... so its all new.  I wonder if I copied an old sliceA xml?

Is this the correct one?  (copied just the header)

That is the latest XML file.

Fldigi is a little different than most digital mode programs in that it expects the radio to always be in an upper sideband mode.  If you used it with a different radio, it is possible that the RTTY mode the reverse is incorrect.

Hi Tim,

Thanks for bearing with me!  I seem to have FLDIGI playing, but the freq display on FLDIGI's waterfall is going High to Low and SmartSDR's display is going Low to High! This can be a bit confusing, but I can live with it .... Is this suppose to be this way with the SliceA wml?

Decoding seems to be fine in RTTY mode, but if I go to reverse the display freq stays the same, but the decoding goes to junk.

I also tried it in DIGI U and it seems to works fine all the way around, but I thought I read in the threads that in RTTY mode the filtering is tighter.

Your thoughts are gospel ....Thanks TIm!
