Riddle me this?

This is something totally unexpected. This is also the first time I've seen this and I can't explain it.
DM-780 running with SSDR on the same instance of Windows, yes, I get that. DM-780 running on Windows on one machine with XPSSDR running on another machine, as it happens under Linux, it is picking up a signal. XPSSDR is not currently wired to start a DAX audio stream. Well, it is wired to it just is not currently.

I was shutting down for the night, and I had both Linux and Windows running simultaneously on two machines, Windows on my laptop, Linux on my dev system. With XPSSDR onand SSDR on the windows box off DM-780 was showing a signal. What I, at the time, thought was odd was DM-780 was parsing a CW 200hz signal but there was no ssdr running on Windows. When I shut down XPSSDR on Linux, out of the corner of my eye I noticed DM-780 stopped. I restarted XPSSDR on Linux, not only different OS but different machine, and DM-780 came alive again. Further, when  I switched frequency on XPSSDR DM-780 responded. I never tried combining the two as I never envisioned both working cross machine but, lo and behold, they actually do?

I can not explain that.

Just a wild guess, but is the DAX channel being shared across your network?

Decent guess Butch but I doubt it as, if you take SSDR as a exemplar, one has to open the dax channel under the slice in order to 'advertise' it. XPSSDR is not plumbed in to do that yet as I expected it wouldn't work. It's on the list not towards the top though,

The first screen shot was of the screen not window, this one you can see it is on 15m. The controls are on the adjacent monitor. I am really at a loss here. But this is too cool as I was thinking I'd lose DAX and digital running xpssdr. Tomorrow I'll try psk31.

I am guessing DM-780 is listening to the slice, not XPSSDR so the radio (actual) is aware of the slice, therefore, so is DM-780.

It's listening to the slice as this still shows in DM-780 the slice data, one cw signal not the pan, as would be expected (slice not pan). Yes, I realize, as this is not about SSDR, it is therefore off topic but, as I said, this is unexpected.

Walt,

My first thought was that you had DM780 configured to use the mic input and you were just picking up audio from the rig's speaker :-) Which DAX RX channel was DM780 configured to use?

You mentioned that PSK31 testing was next. What did you determine?

I'll try to get to that tomorrow Doug. That'll work too. XPSLib is at 1.4.16 while the radio is at 1.6.21 or whatever the last 1.6 mod was. I still have to upgrade it to 1.6.
